Agata Stoinska is a Polish-born photographer working in Ireland. Agata’s unique and edgy style is part of what makes her one of Ireland’s most sought after fashion photographers.

[This post is part of our series showcasing the best of Irish fashion]

In early February 2009 Agata Stoinska opened D-light Studios, a large warehouse style studio space in the heart of Dublin’s North Inner City. The vision behind the studio was to provide a multimedia and art space providing a facility for photographers, television productions, artists, theatre companies, fashion shows and students.

D-light studios housed the ‘Creative GetTogether’, a networking night organised by Agata and fellow members of the Dublin City Enterprise Board. These events, held on the first Tuesday of every month, aimed at bringing sole traders in the creative industry together with the hope of sharing ideas, business and colaborations.

Agata also provides education and training to young and new photographers working in Dublin and Ireland by teaching fashion photography workshops. These workshops were designed to give students an insight into the world and business of fashion photography.

John Rocha, Philip Treacy, Paul Costelloe, Peter O’Brien, Mia O’Connell, Emma Manley & Eilis Boyle were just some of those shortlisted for Ireland’s Most Influential Designer 2010.

There are also quite a number of designers in their twenties on the shortlist, which is a testament to the vibrancy of the industry despite harder times for fashion, not just in Ireland, but globally.

There is of course one glaring omission: Ciaran Sweeney.
